Update on the multiple rings…

I did find the rings. Not exactly what I had in mind, nevertheless nice, quite happy with my purchase.fede-estella-oro-bianco-web They are very simple silver thin(ish) bands. I bought three, one sits at the top (or bottom? opposite nail anyway), the other two just under my knuckles. Now, I am not sure whether they will last long as the second two  slip down a bit now and again… They were really inexpensive though, 9 euros each!!

Perhaps next time I will buy those ones that have a very thin chain at the back which holds them together. I also got the girl in the shop to write down the three sizes for me so, hopefully, I will be able to buy them on-line in the future.

The half tuck

I have finally bought (and received),  the most gorgeous and long-awaited striped oversized shirt, here it is:

I do like it very much. I haven’t actually worn it yet, so perhaps I should wait before making such a statement, but I CAN say my first impression is really good, we’ll see in time whether I do end up using it a lot.

Now, I need some colder weather though… I am looking forward to wearing it with a pair of jeans or trousers for a more elegant, if a little boring, look. Plus I would like to try what is now called “the half tuck”, not necessarily every time I use my new shirt though.

This is it:

This is the one I prefer, with the shirt tucked in at the front only. But I will perhaps try this next one too, with the shirt tucked in just on one side:

I fancy the trousers match more, although one could argue the skirt match is certainly a newer look.

Now let’s hope in the weather…

Collars

I know now isn’t really the time to speak about collars, it is far too hot.  I don’t even wear my watch anymore… but

I came across “collars” on Pinterest by chance. I am fascinated by it.

It’s amazing how many different ones there are, how gorgeous, AND the difference they make to a shirt/sweater/dress etc. Whether they are simple, or just the opposite, embellished, an unusual cut, they are all very interesting, I find.

Here are some.. well, lots actually:

Amazed?!? I was, I had no idea there were so many and such beautiful ones!!!!

Did you spot the intruder by the way? I couldn’t resist it… There also may be some that have been put twice…

I especially like the idea of having different detachable collars to wear on lots of different Colin-Firth-Mr-Darcy-Pride-and-Prejudice-colin-firth-16177816-1346-2047clothes. Love the ruffle type with ties, to add as if it were a scarf ( note to self to cut collars from stained or out of favour shirts and perhaps add to them stones or similar ), but I like them all really… Oh, I also love the idea of the shirt’s collar up and a silk scarf wound around it (in or out the actual collar), a bit Mr. Darcy’s! 1800s circa. I have always had a weakness for cravats… I like the string around the put up collar too (see above gallery for all mentioned).

I want to try the haberdashery for a lace detachable collar, even though that won’t be an easy task, tasteful lace is difficult to come about…

I have to wait for Autumn and winter now.
