What’s a good wardrobe like?

It is a very difficult answer. I have just read a post on “Matches Fashion’s site (the link was actually on the blog “Keep it Chic”). It’s about two women, Italian women, successful women: Giorgia and Giulia Tordini. I have never heard of Walk-in cupboardthem actually. What I like about the article though is that some of their choices in the “10 rules of style” list, make perfect sense to me.

  1. Invest in classic staples Well, this is really my “bible”. I completely agree.
  2. Find the perfect handbag I also agree with this point fully, I have had handbags for nearly 30 years and I am not throwing them away!
  3. Channel Parisian style Sooner or later I am going to write about this.
  4. Make a statement with accessories I strongly believe in accessories.
  5. Keep your wardrobe organised Another very good point and one I always stand by.

Of course it is not all there.. there’s plenty more to say about the perfect wardrobe. This is only part of it, but some very good points all the same.

Another post came to mind about building the perfect wardrobe:

I think I will come back with more on this subject in the near future. Bye for now.

Fingers & toes

Enough with the dark colours, with the unusual brights (see green, blue, etc.), with nail art, never liked “glow in the dark” shades…Red varnish on toes

Back to classics. Almost. Now I want shades of red (more like a orangey/pinky red) and mid-grey.

I like hands & feet with the same colour or red on one and grey on the other. These are shades which tend to go with anything anyway.

In Italy, we have KIKO, which is a great source for make-up in general at affordable prices. Trends last for such short periods now, I feel it isn’t worth spending too much. At least on things like nail polish, if one doesn’t get fed up with the colour, it goes funny very soon and one has to throw it away anyway. Have you ever had a colour you have finished?!?!? No, I am sure not.

Back to my reds and greys:

I also really like this shade:

&OTHER STORIES’ new evening wear

I never speak about evening wear, simply because I don’t have the type of evenings that require such a thing, therefore I don’t own any. Only, yesterday I received an e-mail from & Other Stories about evening gowns and I thought I ought to share my findings with you. Because one dress caught my attention

&Other Stories MIDI PLEATED DRESS black

&Other Stories MIDI PLEATED DRESS black

So simple, yet so stunning! Of course, I then had a look at the others and here’s what I found:

Finally a chic jumpsuit…

A very basic LBD (the right length, the right fabric, the right cut), which is a must though in anybody’s wardrobe…

And a slightly more conservative LBD…

The shoes were cute too, in a “Louboutin kind of way”…

So, planning an evening out yet? I AM thinking about it…
