Big skirts

Today I had a great day chatting, shopping and eating with my lovely sister. We met in Bologna for a long-awaited “time together” and of course, I took her to my favourite shops in town: COS, & Other Stories and Hidden Forest. You probably won’t know the last one I mentioned, but I have fallen in love with this line since I bumped into their shop by chance last summer. It’s an Italian company based in Verona and they make affordable, minimal, forward thinking, AND COMFY clothing (I do like comfy).

I bought this gorgeous skirt:

I actually left the shop wearing it!! It’s funny, I had left home in a pair of boring beige trousers, a striped top and my Stan Smiths (Here’s the post about them) and I ended up going home with a super white t-shirt my sister gave me for my birthday and the new skirt, which by the way looked great with my trainers! The thing is, I always dress really comfy when I go around shops because I do a lot of walking and I also want to be able to get undressed quickly and without too much fuss in order to try things on…

Anyway, I am looking forward to matching my military green (they call it khaki but I prefer military green because I have just realised I wasn’t into this colour trend because I hadn’t found any clothes I fancied yet in it but now I do, like it I mean!!) …. I was saying, I can’t wait to wear my new BIG skirt, and long for that matter, with my numerous white tops. I think I will exchange the trainers later on, when the weather gets hot, and it does here! for my lace up H&M burgundy sandals from last year (Lace-up sandals post).

By the way, I had gone to Bologna thinking of buying a floral print dress and a pair of mules….damn! I always do this, but, I find that if I buy what I fall in love with I wear it so much more than what I thought I should buy…

Here’s the link for the skirt if you like it too: skirt.

Tailored trousers + t-shirt

I am into t-shirts with elegant “bottoms” lately. Plain t-shirts if the skirt/trousers are printed, or graphic t-shirts if “legs” are one colour. Since I have already done a post about the skirt combination ( here ), here is the trousers version:

I love this picture, it’s me, not really me as such, but it is my style. A little masculine.

Anyhow, I searched the internet as usual for affordable clothes to recreate the look…

I actually have a great tee, which my husband won through Virgin Radio and is far too big for him, so I have taken possession of it!!

The t-shirt: must be the classic T shaped one, oversized, so get a man’s one, short sleeves and round neck. Also, I quite like the “logo” ones in this look but not strictly designer, it can be something funny, something you picked up in one of your travels or one with the name of a radio station for example!!  I prefer it black and white or vice versa. There’s something else, the fabric, although it must be cotton, it also needs to be a light jersey that falls nicely… Here’s my choice:

The trousers: white (not transparent please!!!), flawy material, loose and possibly quite long.

Shoes don’t really matter that much as the trousers should fall in a way that will hide them but, if I were to say a style here’s what I’d wear:
