See through, semi transparent, loose knit & co.

See through, semi transparent, loose knit, sheer fabrics….
There is a lot of this around, most of it rather “tarty” looking!
But, if one chooses the right piece and puts it together with the right things….it can be very chic.

& Other Stories

1 I think the most important thing is to choose something very simple, I mean  the style has to be simple, there’s already the fabric which is “complicated”!
2 Since this piece of clothing is THE focus of your outfit, everything else needs to be very very plain.

Here are some tops and a couple a dresses….

& Other Stories

& Other Stories is a fairly new line which belongs to the H&M group. It is supposed to be high end but I am not sure I would quite call it that, the prices being ok, obviously from MY POINT OF VIEW! I have finally taken a look at the on-line shop ( the only italian store is in Milan!).

Now, this is what I like:

UNDERWEAR looks nice with interesting colours
TOPS in general look different and the fabrics seem to be quite good (that means natural fabrics to me, but, since I have not seen the real thing I don’t know whether the clothes actually last or keep their shape!). I was looking for a line which had nice tops, less severe and simple looking than its “sister” COS, but still quite simple. I think this might be the answer.
DRESSES are nice too.

Not sure about the rest. I have grouped it in 3 categories:

Boring and cheap: handbags, accessories, jewellery.
Too weird for my taste: shoes
Too tight or too short and generally not very nice: skirts and trousers.

Patterned trousers

Trousers…. you can always find a pair of nice cotton or linen ones for the summer. They are fine for the day, don’t love them though for the evening, a bit too casual. I came across some which were patterned and thought they would be ideal for both day and evening wear, just changing top, sandals, etc. Here are some ideas….

In fact, one can almost mix and match all of the above…
