Blogs I follow

I have added a list of blogs I decided to follow. I can’t find a way to add to this list the best one I found though! ( see my love and knowledge for technology in previous and recent attempts ended miserably….).

I decided therefore to let you know about the best blog I found with a post.

Have a look. It’s very good. I especially like Sabrina, both because she writes about fashion and because she is incredibly witty. Actually, particularly because of the latter. Not only people ought to think more about frivolous matters (as long as they usually take the important things in life seriously), but they should do it with a good dose of humour (British is best!!).

The 70% – 30% rule

Apparently Michael Kors has said that every woman should own 70% basics and 30% “icing and fluff” (trendy/unusual/jazzy) in her wardrobe. I quite agree with this. One can’t possibly put an outfit together having different proportions of the afore-mentioned.

I would also add to it though. A woman must also decide her style and her colours. It is necessary in order to be able to wear ones clothes with more than one or two other pieces. See, if one decided on a palette, one would than find most things would fit in together. Of course there are shapes and lengths to consider as well, but that’s another story.

And do not forget to always invest in accessories and shoes/bags. That’s a 100% perhaps even 120% on top!

COS: what they do best

COS-logo-retina

COS strength and, at the same time for some people the trouble, is how they show their clothes. The importance is given to the piece of clothing, nothing else. COS apparently stands for Collection of style. It says it all. But I am going to tell you anyway! Their clothes are minimalist, most of the fabrics they use are very good quality and natural fibres but they also adventure in new fabrics, the almost sartorial cut is excellent. They are timeless classics at the right price. At least for most people’s pockets!

You have to look beyond the austere and pale models and try to imagine that piece of clothing with your style, your clothes. Theirs are kind of basic/anonymous, in a positive way though. It means, they always suit you and you can make what you want of them. If you wish to follow their style, you can wear them the way they suggest, but, if you want you can match them to suit your own style. When you look through their site, you must take care to spend time checking them well, they are not for an immediate “wow factor”, time to understand them is a must. If you do it hurrying too much, they will end up all appearing to you indistinguishable one from the other…

I believe what they do best is dresses. But their skirts and trousers aren’t bad either!!

I have chosen some from the current collection, with a look for a certain kind, to go with my next post, which is going to be about wearing classical clothes with trainers:

Dresses

Skirts

Trousers
