Dark orange and blue

I often look at Zara. They might not have great quality, but then that’s not their aim anyway. But they have everything else: the latest design, cuts, colour combinations, etc.

I have just come across one colour match I rather like, even though I am not a fan of orange. This shade of orange is good, I’d call it almost a rust colour. Blue is ok, always ok.

Fingers & toes

Enough with the dark colours, with the unusual brights (see green, blue, etc.), with nail art, never liked “glow in the dark” shades…Red varnish on toes

Back to classics. Almost. Now I want shades of red (more like a orangey/pinky red) and mid-grey.

I like hands & feet with the same colour or red on one and grey on the other. These are shades which tend to go with anything anyway.

In Italy, we have KIKO, which is a great source for make-up in general at affordable prices. Trends last for such short periods now, I feel it isn’t worth spending too much. At least on things like nail polish, if one doesn’t get fed up with the colour, it goes funny very soon and one has to throw it away anyway. Have you ever had a colour you have finished?!?!? No, I am sure not.

Back to my reds and greys:

I also really like this shade:

Matching sets

Matching-set, two-piece, co-ordinate (well, this one isn’t exactly the same thing)…92de71627b69b464032f391868787a7dthey have several names but there is one thing they have in common: it’s impossible to find them with the sites’ search!! One actually needs to find a skirt/trousers/top and then go looking for its match!! Sometimes you will find the model wears the coordinated pieces in the same picture making easier to know a match actually exists, though, even then, in most sites, the other piece isn’t suggested with it and you still have to go finding it yourself… Basically, most sites aren’t very good. Enough moaning…

I really like this trend and I am hoping it will carry on through winter (should be even better with heavier fabrics!!). The way I see it, there are different kind of sets:

  • the classic, top and bottom, which could be a jacket and skirt/trousers or only a top/waistcoat and bottom, etc.
  • the unusual match, e.g. skirt and shoes/bag or all in one place e.g. waistcoat and jacket.
  • can be all one colour which makes it a match, or a type of fabric or a pattern/print (even if slightly different sometimes…scroll down a bit)

At the moment it’s very difficult to find anything due to the sales on everywhere, but I still managed these:

But I really went crazy for this:

There’s even THE BAG!!!!!! So, so cute. If you are a very self-confident person and have lots of sense of humour, wear all three, otherwise, match the top to a white pair of trousers with the bag, or wear a white shirt with skirt and bag.

I like the shirt to be “boyfriend” look, in either linen or crisp poplin. The trousers are nice in both materials too, wide or narrow leg.

This Zara set is interesting, the top’s pattern differs slightly from the bottom’s

Zara PRINTED FLOUNCE SHIRT : PRINTED SHORT HIGH WAIST

If you can’t find anything or can’t spend anymore money, you can always try to do the one colour set with what you’ve got, must stick to al least same material though…also, if you wear something long for the top, it looks more like a set.

This last one is a tunic, something I am very excited about too…
