Embroideries…

As much as I like “Minimal” and I always will, right now I have a new fancy, I am in love with something so opulent to be its exact opposite: embroideries! I am not talking a little embroidery, I am talking big and colourful if possible AND with the addition of stones etc.

See, I had seen Gucci’s winter campaign photos and thought it all look so fabulous! Only, in the real world, where normal people buy normal priced clothes, there is very little unfortunately. Whether that’s because the trend didn’t catch on, whether because it was a risky one, I don’t know. Anyhow, here’s what inspired me:

And here’s what I found:

I feel just about everything can be worn during the day with knitwear, heavy tights and ankle boots. I like more embroideries together or add textured materials in order to MAKE IT CONFUSING, OVER THE TOP, MESSY, OPULENT!  The same clothes can also be worn at night though, with the obvious addition of heels, sheer/elegant/sparkly/etc. tops and so on….

A knitted look

Knitted short sleeves dress + knitted long sleeves top (worn underneath) + pair of fun thick tights + ankle boots

Choose a dress, COS has, as usual, a great collection:

The dress can actually have long sleeves which could be than pushed up to reveal the other ones underneath.

Than you need a long sleeves thin top, with or without collar:

The tights:

Ankle boots to finish the look:

This is an example of the finished look:

A “British look”

A2X0178-e1441625676985

I have always been very fond of “British looking” fabrics, like tweed, Shetland wool, fair isle patterns, etc. I saw a gorgeous sleeveless sweater, by Gucci unfortunately (out of my reach!) and the comment with it on WhoWhatWear, I can’t really remember by whom, but I thought it was a great idea:

pussy-bow blouse + sleeveless sweater + tweed skirt, and it was love at first thought!!

Here’s my version:

British look with tweed skirt, fair isle vest, pussy-bow blouse
