Apparently pink is “in” this summer. I don’t like pink or at least I thought I didn’t , certainly not the “Barbie” way!!!  A few days ago I went make-up shopping, you know, those bright colours I wrote a post about ( here ). The sales girl was very good and convinced me to buy a lipstick too. It was a gorgeous nude one…. my excuse was it’s very difficult to find the perfect one! Anyway, two days later I decide it’s time to use my new make-up and, once I am finished with my eyes I open the lipstick and start applying it, only to find out she has given me the wrong colour! It’s pink!!! Annoyed at first, I have a better look at my lips and I actually decide I quite like it!!!

How daring you might say!!!! Ok, I do realise it’s not a lot of pink… but that’s me, I am not going to embrace the shade just because it’s trendy, or better, I am going to have just a little something in this girly colour, the amount I think suitable for me.

Statement midi skirt + white t-shirt

I bought a skirt a couple of days ago. I hadn’t set out to buy one but I was in one of those outlets where you do an awful lot of walking, I needed to stop for a while, so I went into a shop… as one does in order to rest! Anyway, I was not looking for anything specific, better not in a place like that, and I happened to come across a rather gorgeous skirt. Beautiful slightly shiny cotton, sits on the waist and opens up with wide non ironed pleats, length just under my knees. It was love at first sight! It’s by Patrizia Pepe. Mine is black but I would love one with a floral print as well (I especially like the Hobbs tulip one). Here are some I prepared earlier:

Off-the-shoulder trend

Although this is not something I will love and cherish forever, it’s a cute summer (passing) trend which I like, especially if done with a good dose of taste. & Other Stories has the perfect top for this look: lavender or white cotton.

 

 

 

I would wear it this way:
