D’Orsay shoes

I wasn’t aware they existed or even had a name for that matter! Apparently D’Orsay shoes have been around for a long time and have started being fashionable again during this winter. I wasn’t sure I liked them to be honest but I suppose it was winter (still is actually), and I was more thinking boots or lace-up shoes. Now we are heading towards Spring though, I have started looking at them…and I think I might fancy them after all. They are very feminine and make one’s legs look way longer than other shoes. I suppose they also are quite sophisticated. I was also curious about their name:

Definition of D’Orsay: a pump-type shoe or slipper made with a circular vamp and a quarter that curves to meet the vamp at the shank line. Origin: after Count Alfred G.G. d’Orsay †1852 French society leader and arbiter of fashion.

Anyway, I prefer them flat (there’s apparently a heeled version) and worn with either trousers or longuettes.

You have no idea how many there are out there right now!! An enormous amount, I had difficulties choosing ( I am not sure some can actually be called D’Orsay) but here are some really cute ones:

The dark ones

and the light ones

brighter colours

fun ones

and even a pair of rather fashion forward/futuristic rubber ones

I guess I ought to show at least one heel for info purposes
